The testing of the device was done by measuring the force that was applied to the cable, and the resulting force of the foot. The test would prove that there should be no mechanical advantage through the pulley system inside the device. The test would use a tension scale on the cable and a pressure scale which the foot would press against.

The test was conducted twice. The first scale that was used to measure the output was a spring scale which was aged and potentially inaccurate.  Therefore the test was redone with a digital scale to replace the spring scale.
